The Modern Musical Mind is the private piano studio founded by lead instructor David Zas. Since high school, David has found much joy teaching piano and has students from all ages. He attended Westminster Choir College and earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education as a piano major. Upon graduation he was hired as a vocal and music teacher in Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District. During his tenure, he has taught choir, general music for many grade levels, ukulele, and guitar at the high school. While David maintains a full-time music teaching position in Bridgewater-Raritan schools, he is rejuvenated from private instruction. Each student possesses a distinctive musical desire that he loves to explore.
Accolades include multi-year grant recipient of HIPP Foundation, interviews with television series, Classroom Close-Up. He has written music for exhibits at the Montclair Art Museum and plays organ and piano church in Monmouth county. He is a member of the Piano Teachers Forum
David is from Sayreville, New Jersey and now lives in Flemington, New Jersey. David loves to travel and is pictured atop in Marrakech, Morocco. He is most at peace around the ocean.
